Our privacy policy aims to be simple and understandable for everyone. This privacy policy generally uses the official terms of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The official definitions are explained in Art. 4 GDPR.

Data Processing from Visiting Our Website

When you visit our web pages, it is technically necessary for your internet browser to transmit data to our web server. The following data is recorded during an active connection for communication between your internet browser and our web server:

We collect the listed data to ensure a smooth connection setup of the website and to enable comfortable use of our website by users. Additionally, the log file serves the evaluation of system security and stability as well as administrative purposes. The legal basis for the temporary storage of the data or log files is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

For technical security reasons, especially to defend against attack attempts on our web server, we temporarily store this data. We cannot trace these data back to individual persons. After no more than seven days, the data is anonymized by shortening the IP address at the domain level, so it is no longer possible to reference an individual user.

In anonymized form, the data may also be processed for statistical purposes. At no time is this data stored together with other personal data of the user, compared with other data sets, or passed on to third parties.

Contact Form and Email Communication

If you send us inquiries via contact form or email, your details from the inquiry form or your email, including the first and last name, salutation, postal address you provided, will be stored with us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. Providing an email address is required for contacting you; providing your name and phone number is voluntary. We will not share this data without your consent. The legal basis for processing the data is our legitimate interest in responding to your request according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR and, if applicable, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your request aims at concluding a contract. Your data will be deleted after final processing of your inquiry unless statutory retention periods oppose this. In the case of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, you can object to the processing of your personal data at any time.

Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies".

Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website and to compile reports on website activity. Google will also use this information to provide the website operator with further services relating to the use of the website and the internet. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data. The legal basis for the processing is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, for storing information on your device, Section 25(1) TDDDG.

Google Analytics is only loaded after your explicit consent. As long as you have not given consent, no analytics cookies are set and no data is transmitted to Google. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. When you withdraw consent, the cookies set by Google Analytics are deleted.

According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. When the data is received, the IP address of your device is used solely to derive the approximate location (country and region) and is discarded afterwards. For visits from the European Union, this step takes place on servers within the EU.

We do not use any advertising-related features of Google Analytics. “Google signals” and all advertising and personalisation purposes are permanently disabled. There is neither cross-device tracking nor any use of your data for advertising.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Under this agreement, Google is obliged to process our website visitors’ data solely on our instructions and not to pass it on to third parties. As personal data may also be transferred to the USA in this context, we base this transfer on the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 regarding the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR); Google LLC is certified under this framework. In addition — and in the event that the adequacy decision ceases to apply — we have agreed standard contractual clauses with Google pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR. These oblige the recipient in the USA to process the data in accordance with the level of protection in Europe. The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. Data at user and event level that is linked to cookies and user identifiers is deleted by Google no later than 14 months after collection.

Cookies and local storage

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device and can read again on a later visit. On our website, cookies are set exclusively for Google Analytics — and only if you have consented beforehand. Without your consent we do not set any cookies. We do not use advertising cookies at all.

Your language selection is also stored in local storage (key “i18nextLng”) so that the website appears in your chosen language on your next visit. Data Sharing and Recipients

Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties unless

We also use external service providers for the processing of our services, whom we have carefully selected and commissioned in writing. They are bound by our instructions and are regularly monitored by us. Where necessary, we have concluded data processing agreements with them in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. These include service providers for web hosting, email delivery, as well as maintenance and servicing of our IT systems, etc. The service providers will not pass this data on to third parties.

Data Security

In accordance with Art. 32 GDPR and taking into account the state of the art, implementation costs, and the nature, scope, circumstances, and purposes of processing, as well as the varying likelihood and severity of risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, we take appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk. For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this website uses SSL encryption.

Duration of Storage of Personal Data

The duration of storage of personal data is based on the relevant statutory retention periods (e.g., from commercial and tax law). After the expiration of the period, the corresponding data is routinely deleted. If data is required to fulfill or initiate a contract or if we have a legitimate interest in further storage, the data will be deleted when it is no longer required for these purposes or you have exercised your right of revocation or objection.

The right, in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR, to request information about your personal data processed by us. In particular, you can request information about the purposes of processing, the category of personal data, the categories of recipients to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the planned storage period, the existence of a right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, or objection, the existence of a right to lodge a complaint, the origin of your data if not collected by us, and the existence of automated decision-making including profiling, along with meaningful information on their details, if applicable.

The right to demand the immediate correction of incorrect or completion of your personal data stored by us in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR.

The right to request the deletion of your personal data stored by us in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR, unless processing is required for exercising the right to freedom of expression and information, for compliance with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest, or for asserting, exercising, or defending legal claims.

The right to demand the restriction of processing of your personal data in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR if you dispute the accuracy of the data, the processing is unlawful but you oppose its erasure, and we no longer need the data but you require it for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, or you have objected to processing pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR.

The right to receive your personal data that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format or to request the transfer to another controller in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR.

The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in accordance with Art. 77 GDPR. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority of the federal state of our registered office mentioned above or, if applicable, that of your usual place of residence or workplace.

Right to revoke consents granted in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR: You have the right to withdraw consent to data processing at any time with effect for the future. In case of withdrawal, we will immediately delete the affected data unless further processing can be based on a legal basis for consentless processing. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Right to Object

If your personal data is processed by us on the basis of legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR, provided there are reasons arising from your particular situation. If the objection is directed against the processing of personal data for direct marketing purposes, you have a general right to object without the need to specify a particular situation.
